Weapon Bench is a block added by the EssentialCraft III mod. It is used to create MRU-powered long-range weapons.
The Bench allows to customize the weapons deeply. There are several types of weapons, each of which requires 3 (4 for Sniper Rifle) types of materials from the following list: Magical Ingots, Pale Ingots, Mithriline, Void Plates, Ackronite. One material can be used several times, however, the Weapons consist of 3 (4 for Sniper Rifle) parts which must consist of a single material each. The materials have very different properties and are not direct upgrades over previous ones.
- Magical Ingot Components have a good accuracy and decent knockback, while also being very cheap.
- Pale Components allow for fast firing, but have very low accuracy and low knockback. They also deal more damage and have more durability than Magical Ingot ones.
- Mithriline Components have extremely large knockback and very high accuracy. Also weapons made of them overheat much longer than the ones from more basic materials. However, that comes at drawback: these weapons have a long delay between shots. They also deal more damage and have more durability than Pale ones.
- Void Components are probably the worst ones in most of cases. They allow for slightly less delay between shots and slightly more shots without overheat, but have the accuracy of Pale ones which makes them almost useless for their high price. They also deal more damage and have more durability than Mithriline ones.
- Ackronite Components have a little to no knockback, but little to no delay, almost never overheat and have very high accuracy, what makes them very useful if you already have access to Ackronite Ingots. They also deal more damage and have more durability than Void ones.
Each of weapons requires several materials (their number is written below as it depends on the type of Weapon created), an Elemental Core and a Soul Sphere. Improved versions of Core - Pale Elemental Core and Demonic Core - and improved versions of Sphere - Dark Soul Matter, Red Soul Matter and Matter Of Eternity - can be used, but that doesn't change Weapon functionality (the Weapons always store exactly 5000 MRU, regardless of Matter used).
When a weapon is used, its durability decreases. When it reaches 0, the weapon becomes broken. It still can be used but whenever it is shoot from, there is a chance that it will instantly overheat regardless of its current heat level. It can be repaired in an Anvil with any of the 5 material types.
Weapon Bench comes in several forms able to create different types of weapons. These types are: Pistol, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Gatling Gun.
- Pistol is the simplest weapon. It has the fastest Cooldown among all four types and is the easiest to create. It requires 3 materials for Base, 1 material for Handle and 1 material for Mechanism.
- Assault Rifle has quite fast fire rate and decent accuracy (depending on the materials). It requires 4 materials for Base, 3 materials for Handle and 1 material for Mechanism.
- Sniper Rifle has very high accuracy and double damage compared to other guns, but is very slow: delay between its shots is roughly 10 times more than Pistol's one and roughly 50 times more than Gatling one. It requires 3 materials for Base, 2 materials for Handle, 2 materials for Mechanism and 2 materials for Snipe. It also requires a piece of Glass Alloy. That allows for a decent zoom activated when pressing Shift with Sniper Rifle in hand: 3 times when using Magical Ingots for Snipe, 5 times when using Pale Ingots, 7 times when using Mithriline, 12 times when using Void Plates and 16 times when using Ackronite.
- Gatling is the fastest weapon among all four types. However, it has a very low accuracy, unless Mithriline or Ackronite is used in its construction. It requires 7 materials for Base, 4 materials for Handle, 2 materials for Mechanism, a piece of Sun Imbued Glass and two MRUMPs of the same type. Unless the type of the MRUMPs is Shade, which is unimplemented now, the type doesn't change anything besides the color of rays (Shade one makes the damage type Shade).
