Think Tank is a generator for Knowledge Fragments. It is a central block of a multi-block structure which also requires a Bookshelf, as shown in more detail below. Once assembled, it functions very similarly to Thaumcraft 4's Deconstruction Table, except that it can only break down Books and produces Knowledge Fragments rather than singular research points. Unlike the Deconstruction Table, it can produce multiple fragments without "pausing" and waiting for the player to take one out each time. It is unlocked later in the game than the research table however, requiring the player to first unlock Infusion and the Brain In A Jar.
Right clicking upon the central block brings up a GUI with two slots and a progress bar; the top slot is the input, which can only accept stacks of Books, and the bottom slot is the output where Knowledge Fragments will appear. The think tank will automatically break down any books in its top slot continuously, and animated books with moving pages will appear in the air orbiting the think tank to show that it is currently working - these will vanish when it has no more books to process.

Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]
"Your search for a way to automate research has finally come to an end. You have found that purified zombie brains make the perfect research aide. Placing a few of them in a warded jar with some thaumic devices and supplying them with an ample amount of books will result in a quantity of knowledge fragments. The system is not perfect and the supplied books are destroyed in the process.
This 'think tank' has very particular placement requirements. To construct a working think tank, you must place the tank on top of a bookshelf, with nothing occupying the space in a 3x3x3 cube around the tank except for the bookshelf it is placed on. Note that a wand does not need to be used when setting up your think tank."
Recipe[edit]
Construction[edit]
All the empty spaces must be completely empty, or else the machine will not function.
